Thanksgiving is the time of year that we celebrate gratitude, but do we live with an Attitude of Gratitude throughout the year?
If we are honest with ourselves, typically our Attitude of Gratitude correlates with whether or not we are getting what we want. This is fueled by messages we get from our culture.
"If I could just have _______________,
I would be happy, grateful, and content."
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden- You would think they would have been grateful and content. Not the case!
What does the Bible say about gratitude?
1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Gratitude is a choice! When we choose to have an attitude of gratitude regardless of our circumstances, we are choosing to trust and place our faith in God.
Interesting that Paul does not just tell us to give thanks in all circumstances, but he also tells us why........because it is God's will for us.
How do we develop an Attitude of Gratitude?
Difference between asking God how to respond to our circumstances versus asking God to change our circumstances.

As Christ followers, we should be different!!
Let's have a consistent Attitude of Gratitude regardless of our circumstances. This is how the world will see Jesus through us!
