We were made to pray powerful prayers—together. When we gather, God promises His presence and to move on our behalf. This unity binds us to one another and points the world to Jesus. If we long to see a move of God, it’s time we experienced the power of praying together.
In its essence, meditation is simply the practice of listening to God’s voice as He speaks through His Word and prayer. It is this crucial element that makes our prayer life a two-way conversation rather than a one-way monologue. Meditation is the intentional act of listening to God. We must come to Bible study and prayer expecting to hear a personal word from a personal God.
Far too many of us devote the vast majority of our prayer time to personal prayers that are mostly temporal and have little to do with eternal issues. Yet, our true spiritual growth and service will not exceed the depth of your personal petitions and intercessions. Pray for yourself. Petition God to be that man or woman who will stand in the gap. Then step out and do it through intercession.
The link between powerful prayer and happiness is the act of confession. Ask the Lord to search you and find any wicked way in you. Then take a moment and let Him speak. If you feel something is wrong and your prayer life is ineffective go through the list of each category one at a time and give God time to speak to your heart.
